Description

Made this build for my uncle. He would buy Mac Minis every year or so off of Ebay and they would stop working after a while. Eventually ended up convincing him to make him this little computer. He really didn’t need a beefy CPU because all he does is uses it for browsing. Decided to go with the InWin Chopin case because it’s sexy, has a 150W PSU, and is really high quality. This was my second PC build and this was pretty difficult. It was really small making it hard to route some of the cables. I could’ve done a better job but I just wanted to put it together and get it going. Had to take it apart once so I could route some cables in a better way. Really glad with how it looks though, and hopefully it lasts longer than those Mac mini’s.

Part Reviews

Case

Awesome case. Cable management kind of tough, but once you plan everything out, it’s pretty easy.

Custom

Cheapest Mini itx lga 1151 mobo I could find with WiFi and Bluetooth. Works like a charm!

What did he do to those poor Mac Minis so they die on the annual basis? Nice build though.

Thanks. Honestly don’t know, I think he bought 2 last year and they both stopped working.

Isn't that a bit slow. Even for web browsing. Wouldn't a 2200g or something been a bit better.

I was thinking about going with a 2200g but it was 20 more dollars than the G5400. 2200g is a better CPU, but the G5400 is more than enough for just web browsing and YouTube videos. Here they compare the 2200g and G5400 — take a look, both are almost on par.
