Description
Update 3/31/21 WOW! As GLaDOS would say "It's been a long time..". Somehow the build was removed but is now reinstated. The wife and I made some adjustments to our desk to accommodate a 3rd setup (pics added). I bought a desk for my work area. Added a qnap NAS with (4)10TB WD Reds, for various reasons: (back ups, hold files for plex server). I would love to upgrade every computer in the studio, but parts are too hard to come by. Will add a few more pics by this weekend.
Update 3/16/17 Added a couple of pictures of my completed battle station. Added 2 platforms for the statues behind the monitors. My side is the Hulk vs Wolverine and my wife's side is the Dark Phoenix.
Update 3/12/17 I have setup and installed the theater seats. The wife and I built the platform for the back row. The seats are great! Very comfortable, power recline, led, usb ports, arm rest storage, tray tables. I am very happy with how everything turned out. I added update pictures. Thank you for looking!
Update 3/2/17: Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone for the comments and feedback, I hope all enjoyed. Secondly, Thank to PCPP for the featured spot!
I finally made a decision on theater seating and have placed my order. I'm going with 2 rows of 4. Front row with center loveseat and back row will be standard. I went with the Seatcraft Venecians. I will add updated pictures when they come in 1 week from today.
This game room has been a vision of mine for a while. I felt it would be best showcased with the focus on the room and the multiple gaming builds inside. I will give a brief description of each build and their purpose.
Media Setup:
GLaDOS
Coolteck W2 case containing:
Z170-Deluxe
I7-6700K
1080 FTW Hybrid SLI
32GB Ram
850 Pro SSD OS drive plus others
This rig is hooked up to my 65” LG OLED TV. I use it for 4k gaming when I am in the mood to play laid back with a controller. I prefer to use the Xbox one elite controller when I game in this area.
I am “pc master race” all the way, but many of my friends game on consoles; it is for this reason, as well as for exclusives, that I have the PS4. The Xbox One S is primary used for UHD blu-ray playback. I bought the Samsung soundbar to compliment the astounding picture the OLED provides. The sound bar with Dolby Atmos is amazing and can change how you experience movies.
Dual Gaming Setup:
Wheatley
Corsair Air 240 case containing:
Maximus VIII Gene
I7-6700K
Titan X Hybrid (Maxwell) SLI
16GB Ram
950 Pro SSD M.2 OS Drive plus others
ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q 34” 3440x1440 100Hz Monitor
Chell
Corsair Air 240 case containing:
Maximus VIII Gene
I5-6600K
980TI Hybrid SLI
16GB Ram
850 Pro SSD OS Drive plus others
Samsung S34E790C 34” 3440x1440 60Hz Monitor
My wife and I are both gamers, and we enjoy gaming together. We built this dual PC desk so that when we played we could do so together. Wheatley also runs the HTC Vive VR headset. Although VR isn’t really “taking off” we have really enjoyed the Vive with games like Space Pirate Trainer, Fruit Ninja, The Lab, and because of the awesome mod “Revive”, Superhot VR.
WorkStation:
Mac Pro
Xeon E5 Quad Core
Dual D700s
64GB ECC Ram
Samsung U28D590D UHD 60Hz Monitor
This is my work setup. I prefer OSX for productivity. I use a program called “Duet Display” to use my iPad Pro as a second monitor. When not being used as I monitor I use the iPad Pro for art and reading comic books.
These setups are receiving WIFI from the Nighthawk X10. This router is very strong and works well with my setups.
My media room is still a work in progress. I hope to build a different desk for my workstation, move the futon to the loft, and put 2 rows of theater seats in front of the OLED TV. I would also like to remove the shelving and put floating shelves in various places to display items I’ve collected.
Thanks for looking; I hope you’ve enjoyed Stone House Studio.
Special thanks to my brother, eli_harper13 for pushing me to post this, adding most of the parts, and taking/editing the pictures.
